Get to know the trees of the Piedmont on a first name basis in this hands-on course. Using careful observation, keys, and sketching, we'll zoom in on features like twigs, leaves, buds, fruits/cones, and bark to identify 25 or more species. With information on their natural histories and economic uses, these majestic native plants will step forward from the forest and landscape and become lifelong friends.
Note:
This class is intense and requires heavy active participation. Dress for being outside. Pack a lunch for class Sunday.
