About this event
What's Writing Got to Do With It? | Hosted by H.E.R. Society in collaboration with Sigma Tau Delta, UNC Charlotte's International English Honor Society.
Join us for an engaging conversation with Dr. Janaka Bowman Lewis, Associate Dean and Professor of English at UNC Charlotte, as we explore graduate school opportunities and the resources available to help students prepare for their academic and professional futures.
We'll discuss how writing plays an essential role in:
- Graduate school applications and personal statements - Scholarships and fellowships - Undergraduate research opportunities - Leadership and professional development - Communicating your experiences, interests, and goals
The event will begin with an interactive networking activity designed to help students connect across disciplines, followed by a workshop and conversation with Dr. Lewis.
Come prepared! Bring your questions about writing for these opportunities, and be ready to discuss opportunities you're currently pursuing, have explored in the past, or are considering for your future.
Whether you're actively preparing for graduate school or just beginning to explore what's possible, this event offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and discover resources to support your next steps.
