About this event
One of Charlotte’s most significant redevelopment opportunities is taking shape at the former Charlotte Pipe & Foundry site. The Iron District is envisioned as a 55-acre, mixed-use neighborhood connecting Uptown and South End, ultimately bringing together office, residential, retail, hospitality, cultural uses, and public spaces on a site that played an important role in Charlotte’s industrial history. At CREW Charlotte’s November luncheon, attendees will hear from three leaders helping shape the project: Tommy Mann with Trammell Crow Company , representing the development perspective; Rhea Greene with Trinity Partners , leading office leasing efforts; and Sha Rana with the City of Charlotte Economic Development .
Moderated by Allen Clark , the conversation will explore the vision behind the Iron District, how the development team is approaching placemaking and phasing, and what it takes to bring a transformational project of this scale to life. Attendees can expect perspectives on the evolving office and mixed-use market, tenant and employer expectations, infrastructure and connectivity, and the role of public-private collaboration in supporting major urban redevelopment. The panel will also look ahead at how the Iron District can strengthen the connection between Uptown and South End while creating a new destination for businesses, residents, visitors, and the broader Charlotte community.
