This contemporary dance class builds upon foundational technique, encouraging exploration of movement, musicality, and artistic expression through a blend of ballet, jazz, and modern dance elements, with a focus on developing strength, flexibility, and coordination. You will explore a wider range of movement qualities, including contractions, releases, falls, and recoveries, as well as different spatial patterns and dynamic variations. Students will learn to interpret music and express emotions through movement, focusing on phrasing, dynamics, and musicality. This class is designed for dancers with prior dance experience, typically a few years of training in other styles like ballet, jazz, or modern.
