About this event

A multidisciplinary project, "Every Thing That Grows" takes as its inspiration six of Shakespeare's sonnets that focus on life cycles in nature - themes of birth, growth, attraction, propagation, decli ne, and death. Student writers, actors, soundscape designers, choreogr aphers, dancers, composers, musicians, 3D artists and designers (and t heir respective faculty) are using classes, labs, and projects within their specialties to create new works based on the sonnets… and each others' work!

The program includes an exhibition of sculptures Nov. 9-16 in Lambla Gallery, accompanied on Nov. 13 by music and dance performances at 4:30 and 6:00 p.m.

Later project products will include online aural content and a long-term exhibition along the paths of the Van Landingham Glen in the Botanical Gardens on campus.

Faculty leaders: Tom Burch (Theatre), Jonathan Dessi-Olive (Architecture), Marissa Nesbit (Dance), Marek Ranis (Art), and Elizabeth Sullivan (Music).

Listed by CitySpark: Charlotte, NC, gathered by the Fort Mill events calendar.
