South Pointe earned a unanimous No. 1 ranking (3-0) in Class 4A in the Week 4 poll, while Fort Mill climbed to No. 10 (3-0) in Class 5A; games are set for Friday and the next poll will be released next week.

Piper, a reserved tri-color tabby, and Tutti Frutti, a 13-year-old dog, are featured for adoption at the Humane Society of York County.

On Saturday, Sept. 5, Fort Mill High competed at the 2026 Eye Opener meet at the Roger Milliken Center, where the girls finished third in the International race + the boys placed fifth, and the junior varsity girls secured a one-point win.

8 to Sept. 12; Nation Ford, Fort Mill, and Catawba Ridge will compete in football, tennis, volleyball, and swimming with games hosted both locally and away (venues include Columbia, York, Roebuck, and Gastonia).

Winthrop University track teams finished 8th in the women's 4k with 231 points and 9th in the men's 6k with 246 in Elon — led by Anna Conrad and Spencer Shealy.

They will host the Winthrop Invitational at Winthrop Farm in Rock Hill on Friday, Sept. 25 at 12 a.m.
