  • Fort Mill’s SUMP’N SUMP’N won three Scovie Awards medals (silver for Kid Friendly Table Condiments and bronze for two spice seasonings) at the 2026 event in Albuquerque, becoming the sole Carolinas winner among 754 entries.   • Crystal M. Burns, MBA, was named the first Executive Director of the Tri County HBCU Alliance effective January 1, 2026. She led efforts to expand community outreach, strategic growth, and partnership building across Chester, Lancaster, and York counties — marking a new chapter of support for HBCU students and alumni.  Tega Cay Sun

  • Fort Mill boys' basketball won 64-48 over Clover on Jan. 2 and improved to 2-0 in Region 3-5A, led by 20-point standout Jermier Nelson, while the girls lost 42-34 to Clover and dropped to 1-1.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
