- ➤ The Tega Cay Golf Club is reviewing proposals from ten businesses, including its current operator Shore Club, to manage food and beverage services under a five‐year contract starting February 1 with a possible extension. City officials will announce the selection soon, and the winning bidder will pay $15,000 monthly plus extra fees for managing the conference center—changes set to begin for the 2026 golf season. WRHI
- ➤ PuckerButt Pepper Company opened its new store in the Kingsley shopping district on March 21 at 10 a.m.—the location offers more shelf space for its famous range of hot sauces and peppers while expanding its reach in Fort Mill. Tega Cay Sun
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ York County officials said the final lawsuit over the failed Carolina Panthers site ended after a December 2022 bankruptcy deal returned 21 million dollars and nearly 250 acres while Rock Hill denied the breach of contract claims—County Manager Josh Edwards added that the county is moving forward to foster new partnerships. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The South Carolina Department of Public Health confirmed that a raccoon near Countryview Lane and S.C. Hwy 324 in Rock Hill tested positive for rabies on March 20 — no people have been exposed — and one dog will be quarantined according to state law. WRHI
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Fort Mill High School’s boys golf team started the season with wins on March 13 and March 20 when they beat Catawba Ridge (164 to 172) and Nation Ford (168 to 169). Coach Bridges praised the team as Baker Tolentino led both victories with strong play. Tega Cay Sun
- ➤ AC Flora beat Fort Mill 8-7 in a tight lacrosse match Wednesday night—AC Flora led early and held their lead despite a late surge by Fort Mill that dropped its record to 5-3. Fort Mill will rebound Saturday at River Bluff—prep highlights showed the Catawba Ridge boys lacrosse team win 11-4, the Nation Ford girls lacrosse team lose 11-6 and the Nation Ford girls soccer team defeat Rock Hill 9-0 while the Nation Ford-Catawba Ridge boys tennis match was rescheduled.
