ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The South Carolina Department of Public Safety reported that eight people died on S.C. roads between March 21 at 6:00 p.m. and March 23 at 11:59 p.m., bringing the year’s total to 145 while York County recorded fewer fatalities than in previous years and Lancaster County’s numbers stayed steady—urging drivers to follow safe practices.  Tega Cay Sun

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Qualified nursing faculty at public institutions who have existing student loans can now refinance their loans through the BOLD Career Pathways Nursing Faculty Loan Program—offering up to $90,000 in loan remission if they agree to teach two years per $30,000 received and hold an MSN, DNP, or Ph.D. The expansion, building on August 2024 changes, aims to help reduce the nursing shortage statewide.  WRHI

  • Dr. Hall from Hall Chiropractic Center in Fort Mill said taking a break from social media can ease mental fatigue and anxiety—helping people improve focus and emotional well-being.   • The College of Charleston equestrian team won the ECAC Single Discipline Championship, and Tega Cay’s Ella Collins helped the team win — Coach Natasha Vitkovic was named Coach of the Year while riders Kathryn McCarthy and Hailey Pendl earned top honors.  Tega Cay Sun
  • Chad Sims of Lancaster won the recent MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League tournament on Lake Wylie by catching five bass weighing 18 pounds and earning $10,641+ Britt Myers Jr. of Lake Wylie finished second with five bass weighing 17 pounds, 13 ounces and earned $1,820.  WRHI
