- ➤ A new drive-through coffee and ice cream shop is planned for Highway 160 at Vandor Springs Road near Tega Cay following York County Council’s first rezoning reading on Monday. - ➤ State lawmakers are advancing a bill to join the Interstate Teacher Mobility Compact to let out-of-state educators start teaching faster (the bill still requires background checks to meet local standards). It cleared the committee stage and will move to a full House vote soon. Tega Cay Sun
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Charlotte-based Atrium Health finalized a $5 million purchase of over 10 acres at the intersection of I-77 and Sutton Road near the Masons Bend community. The acquisition supports its planned $450 million medical campus featuring a 200,000 sqft hospital with 60 beds scheduled to open in 2029. Tega Cay Sun
- ➤ York County Council approved Monday the first reading of a condition amendment that allows Stanley Martin Homes to use a condo-style ownership model for an age-restricted community along Highway 160 near the North Carolina border, shifting exterior upkeep to a homeowners association for older residents.
