- ➤ This past weekend, 170 women from 10 congregations of The Church Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered for a two-day conference in Fort Mill that focused on service, spiritual growth and community connection while completing donation projects for local nonprofits. - ➤ The Humane Society of York County in Fort Mill highlights pets of the week by featuring Joe, a gentle stray tabby with CH cerebellar hypoplasia who is slowly adapting in his foster home, and Paris Hilton, an energetic 7 month pup needing a patient adopter. - ➤ 170 women from 10 congregations attended a two-day conference themed 'He Lives: Bringing the Savior into Our Hearts and Homes' in Fort Mill this past weekend. The event featured community service projects—donating 20,000 items, assembling 1,800 period packs, and preparing over 350 care bags for local nonprofits—and a keynote address by Katie Hughes on strengthening faith and community service. - ➤ Athletes from York County excelled at the All American Track Meet held April 11–12 in Columbia where Clover High’s Mackenzie Boggess won the girls triple jump with a leap over 40 feet and Rock Hill High’s Aidan Graham won the boys discus with a throw of 181 feet 5 inches. Their strong performances placed them on the national stage — a sign local talent is recognized — as several other athletes from the area also earned top-ranked finishes. Tega Cay Sun
- ➤ On April 14, Fort Mill golfers finished second at Springfield Golf Club with a team score of 159 led by Baker Tolentino while the Indian Land Warriors posted a winning score of 156. The Fort Mill baseball team won game one over Indian Land by 13 to 3—raising its record to 14 wins and 3 losses—and the boys’ tennis team advanced with a 6 to 0 win, improving its record to nine wins and one loss.
