- ➤ State lawmakers advanced House Bill 4163 that would dissolve the SCHSL and create a new state-run SCHAA — an agency run by an 11-member board chosen by the governor, legislative leaders, and the state superintendent to set rules, manage playoffs, and boost opportunities for all high school athletes including homeschoolers and private school students — while supporters say it will bring more accountability and opponents worry experienced educators will be left out.
