- ➤ The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center reported that South Carolinians lost $146 million to cyber crime in 2024—an increase of $27 million from the previous year—with older victims suffering the highest losses at $58.5 million. The report detailed top crimes including extortion, phishing/spoofing, and data breaches along with business email compromises, investment fraud, and romance scams causing the most financial damage. - ➤ South Carolina lawmakers advanced House Bill 4163 on April 22nd, which proposes to dissolve the SCHSL and create a state-run high school athletic association governed by an 11-member board appointed by the governor, legislative leaders, and the state superintendent. - ➤ Athletes from York County and other local schools raced on Friday at the 2025 Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic Elite Track Meet as Fort Mill Boys won the 4x800 Relay + Fort Mill High School had top finishes in distance races and field events while other schools like Northwestern and Clover also performed well ahead of state qualifiers.
