- ➤ Hissho Sushi is relocating its headquarters and distribution operations to York County at 3621 Lazy Hawk Road in Rock Hill—bringing 146 new jobs and a $5 million investment. The company will begin operations in August. Tega Cay Sun
- ➤ Google Fiber will expand high-speed internet service to Fort Mill by offering three plans starting at $70 a month that include options for home internet, TV, and phone. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ York County Council approved the first reading of the FY 2026 budget at its May 5 meeting, which adds a 1.5 mil tax for parks and recreation across all county residents — canceling the previous tax for unincorporated areas. - ➤ Fort Mill’s girls’ soccer team secured a 2—0 win over Indian Land on May 6 in the first round of the Class 5A Division 2 state playoffs with early goals by Mallory Kendall and Taylor Collins.
