- ➤ On May 8th, Helen Zimmerman, Resource Development Director of United Way – Stamp Out Hunger, joined Manning Kimmel on Straight Talk to discuss her role in fighting hunger in the community. WRHI
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ South Carolina lawmakers reached a compromise on liquor liability reform after weeks of negotiations that may help lower insurance premiums for restaurants and bars by allowing risk mitigation measures—such as earlier closure of alcohol service or lower alcohol sales to reduce coverage limits. The Senate will vote on the measure on May 14th and must complete its session by 5 p.m. Thursday so the bill can go to the governor, with most parts taking effect on January 1. WRHI
- ➤ The House approved a compromise on liquor liability reform aimed at easing high insurance premiums for restaurants+bars while the Senate will vote on the measure during a session on Wednesday. If the bill passes and is signed, most changes will take effect on January 1. Tega Cay Sun
