The National Taxpayers Union Foundation said that if the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expires at the end of the year, South Carolina tax filers will pay an average of $2,319 more — estimates for neighboring states show similar increases.
Lawmakers may need to review deduction policies to help lessen the impact.

High school athletes from Fort Mill and nearby communities competed on May 10 at the SCHSL 5A Division II qualifiers to earn spots for the state championships set for May 15 at Spring Valley High School—Fort Mill High School had strong results in running, field, and relay events.
Competitors from Nation Ford, Catawba Ridge, Indian Land, and Northwestern also qualified.
