GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The House approved a bill that could change short-term rental tax collection by making renters pay taxes directly to property managers instead of platforms sending them to the state. Some property management companies say the change might hurt their business while Airbnb warned it could complicate tax collection and raise privacy concerns—the bill awaits Senate approval and the governor’s signature.  Tega Cay Sun

  • On May 14, eight Fort Mill High student athletes signed letters of intent to play college sports. Logan Parker will head to North Greenville, Nas Berry to Wingate, Nicolette D’Alto to North Greenville, Gavin Gordon and Will Johnson to Columbia College, Bo Blankenship to Averett, Michael Lambert to Roanoke, and Alyssa Tanksley to the College of Charleston—athletic director Dwayne Hartsoe said he is excited for their next level.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
