- ➤ Multiple Memorial Day ceremonies will honor local veterans across the region as events are planned for May 25 and May 26. In Fort Mill, the Town will hold its ceremony on Monday, May 26 at 10 a.m. at Unity Cemetery (303 Tom Hall Street) while other communities host remembrances at designated locations. Tega Cay Sun
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Fort Mill School District Board unanimously selected Mr. Grey Young as the district's next superintendent on May 22 and he will start on July 1 while Dr. Chuck Epps continues as a consultant through December—Mr. Young brings 24 years of local experience in teaching, coaching, and administration—that the board said will guide the schools into the future. - ➤ South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster announced his plan to sign a bill that creates a new fentanyl-induced homicide charge — a law that carries up to 30 years in prison for anyone who knowingly provides fentanyl resulting in a death.
