ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On July 4, a 24-year-old man from Florence drowned at Nivens Creek when first responders pulled him from the water and took him to Piedmont Medical Center where he was pronounced dead—authorities are investigating the case.  Tega Cay Sun

HEALTH NEWS

  • Recent research shows that short bursts of exercise can reduce the risk of major heart events by up to 45% with just three minutes of vigorous activity each day, and experts say everyday movements like brisk gardening count—Dr. Hall of Hall Chiropractic Center in Tega Cay and Fort Mill recommends trying 'exercise snacks'—to boost overall wellness.  Tega Cay Sun
  • In June 2025 the South Carolina Department of Agriculture inspected 208 York County restaurants and nearly all earned an A for health and safety.   • A Canopy MLS report found that new listings reached 987 homes in York, Lancaster, Chester and Chesterfield counties and inventory grew 49.6% to 1,711 homes, with new builds making up 19% of this month’s market.   • Canopy MLS reported strong activity in York, Lancaster, Chester and Chesterfield counties as new listings hit 987 homes—an 18.3% jump year-over-year and a 12.5% rise from last month, with inventory growing 49.6% compared to May last year.
