- ➤ An officer with Rock Hill police shot a woman on Saturday after she pointed her gun at a York County deputy when deputies responded to reports of a burgundy Jeep firing from Nassau Circle and Young Warrior Town drive; stop sticks deflated the vehicle’s tires near Cheryl Lynn Drive—she is now hospitalized in stable condition and SLED will investigate. Akerman used the 14th Amendment in South Carolina to try federal cases against Ku Klux Klan members in York County—charging them with denying voting rights.
