EDUCATION NEWS

  • Nation Ford High School has hired new head coaches for girls lacrosse, baseball, girls tennis and softball with Greg Allen, Josh Corley, Adam Grynberg, and Shelby Sosebee taking over the teams. The school said the coaches (with strong local ties) bring experience to help student-athletes build skills on and off the field.  Tega Cay Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The USDA announced $16 billion in disaster aid for farmers who lost crops in 2023 and 2024 & nearly $50 million is expected to reach South Carolina farmers; local FSA offices began sign-ups last Thursday and a second phase will begin in early fall.  WRHI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nation Ford High School has hired new varsity coaches for baseball, softball, girls’ lacrosse, girls’ tennis and wrestling ahead of the next school year. The appointees—local grad Josh Corley, Charlotte native Shelby Sosebee and former wrestler Brady Hensley among them—will begin their roles when school starts in August.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
  • Fort Mill Post 43 Seniors rallied late in the game to beat Rock Hill Post 34 8-6 on July 10, improving their League IV record to 6-4 and overall record to 8-9. They will return to Rock Hill on Monday, July 14 for the final series game.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
