A 24-year-old motorcyclist named Justin Anderson died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday near Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church on Doby’s Bridge Road in Fort Mill—no other vehicles were involved and police are continuing their investigation.

On July 10 at 3:09 p.m., York County deputies responded to a Dollar General shooting in Sharon where a man threatened a vehicle and was fatally shot after the driver fired his gun in self-defense — the York County Sheriff’s Office and the Solicitor’s Office have decided not to file any charges.

The South Carolina Department of Public Health has updated vaccine requirements for all childcare and school students for the upcoming 2025 to 2026 school year, requiring fifth graders to receive two doses of the Hepatitis A vaccine, seventh to twelfth graders to receive one dose of the Tdap vaccine, and eleventh graders to receive two doses of the chickenpox vaccine — children with a history of chickenpox are exempt.
