EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On August 5, the Fort Mill School Board reviewed its financial report for the fiscal year 2024 to 2025, summer program updates and safety measures for Flint Hill schools, and announced that an independent environmental health assessment will be posted today for public review—board members also discussed bond issuance for energy savings, impact fee collections and planned traffic solutions as enrollment increased. - ➤ The Fort Mill School Board met Tuesday evening, August 5 to review the district’s year-end financial report, planned summer programs—such as space camp and reading camp—and new safety measures including an independent air quality check near Flint Hill schools. Board members also updated policies for parent organizations and discussed steps to ease school traffic as enrollment rose on the first day. WRHI

- ➤ At the July 28 meeting, the council honored former superintendent Dr. Chuck Epps, discussed a proposed microtransit pilot with a $200,000 request, and reviewed a $4.2 million stormwater restoration study. The council also approved a town hall renovation at a $5.77 million guaranteed maximum price, granted funds for facade improvements, and appointed a new Planning Commission member—actions that support future local infrastructure improvements.
