CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Law enforcement warned that bank customers may be targeted by a crime known as jugging—in which criminals watch and then follow people after cash withdrawals—and advise changing routes and calling 911 if suspicious activity is noted. Tega Cay Sun
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fort Mill School District raised meal prices for the 2025-2026 school year with breakfast now costing $1.85, elementary lunch $3.00, and middle/high lunch $3.75. The school board said the increase—the first since 2020—is a response to rising food, supply, and labor costs and is expected to generate over $971,000 to help cover a budget shortfall. Tega Cay Sun

- ➤ The South Carolina Department of Agriculture inspected 201 restaurants in York County in July and gave six a B rating for issues like improper food storage and pest activity — four restaurants earned an A after follow-up corrections while Lesslie Food Shop and Sharon Grill are still waiting for reinspection.
