  • Hikers, cyclists and equestrians have direct access to over 200 acres of trails as two new steel-truss pedestrian bridges were completed at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill. The $1.77 million project replaced the collapsed Steele Street road bridge and removed the aging swinging bridge—these new structures are elevated above the 100-year floodplain to improve safety and reduce environmental risks.  Tega Cay Sun

CULTURE NEWS

  • Long-time Winthrop organist and professor David Lowry received the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor—awarded earlier this month by Governor Henry McMaster. He taught music for 55 years at Winthrop University and co-founded the York County Choral Society—shaping the region’s musical culture.  Tega Cay Sun

  • Nation Ford football will hold a pre-season scrimmage against Ambassador Christian tomorrow to mark the start of Coach Bentley’s era after a 2-9 season last year.
