- ➤ Hikers, cyclists and equestrians have direct access to over 200 acres of trails as two new steel-truss pedestrian bridges were completed at Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill. The $1.77 million project replaced the collapsed Steele Street road bridge and removed the aging swinging bridge—these new structures are elevated above the 100-year floodplain to improve safety and reduce environmental risks. - ➤ Long-time Winthrop organist and professor David Lowry received the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina’s highest civilian honor—awarded earlier this month by Governor Henry McMaster.
