  • The Fort Mill School District has expanded college credit opportunities so nearly 70% of the Class of 2025 earn credits through AP, Dual Credit, and PLTW courses—district leaders plan to add more courses at USC Lancaster's Indian Land campus and aim to help some students graduate with an associate degree while increasing access for underrepresented groups.  Tega Cay Sun
  • York Tech and Rock Hill schools launched a middle college program that lets high school students take college classes. The program—aimed at giving students a head start—will help them earn credits before high school graduation.  WRHI

  • A recent report ranked Lake Wylie among South Carolina’s most snake-infested lakes, with most sightings involving non-venomous water snakes—though officials noted that venomous copperheads have also been seen near the shoreline.
