- ➤ A York County woman, Leigh Flynt Kohn, was arrested on Sept. 5 on charges of tax evasion and failure to file after she allegedly did not report $281,000 in income from her employer funds in her 2023 and 2024 returns — she is held at the York County Detention Center pending a bond hearing. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor McMaster has issued an executive order directing DSS to request a federal waiver that would ban candy, energy drinks, soft drinks and sweetened beverages purchased with SNAP benefits; the order exempts milk products, juices, sports drinks and infant formula. DSS will submit the waiver request within 14 days and revise it as needed+ the move follows national efforts to support healthier eating. Tega Cay Sun
