GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • South Carolina lawmakers introduced a bill called the Vaccine Choice and Bodily Autonomy Act (which would bar vaccine mandates by government, schools and businesses) to protect people's rights. The bill faces heated debate and will soon be reviewed in committee to decide its effects on public health.  WRHI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Catawba Ridge, Fort Mill and Nation Ford high schools will host sports events this week starting today—featuring golf at Spring Lake today along with volleyball, football and swimming contests through September 12. The schedules list game times and locations at local venues, giving teams clear plans for each matchup.  Tega Cay Sun
  • Fort Mill's swim team swept the Upstate Invite at Fort Mill Aquatics Center with the boys scoring 312 points and the girls 300 while Nation Ford finished second (boys with 166 and girls with 167). Parker Hightower led the team by winning the 200-yard individual medley.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
