- ➤ Famous Toastery closed its Tega Cay location at 2429 Highway 160 after serving breakfast and brunch favorites for 11 years, and a sign on the door confirmed its permanent closure—leaving locals without a beloved spot—and plans for a new restaurant will be shared soon. Tega Cay Sun
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Nation Ford High School will host the annual Carolinas Exhibition of Bands on Saturday, September 20 at its campus on A O Jones Blvd where high school marching bands from the Carolinas will perform their new shows in a non-competitive setting. Gates will open at 12:30 PM — tickets cost $15 with free admission for children 5 and under and vendors will offer food and merchandise that benefit the Nation Ford Band program. Tega Cay Sun

- ➤ Fort Mill High School’s MCJROTC program has been named a Naval Honor School—a prestigious recognition that allows the Senior Marine Instructor to nominate up to six cadets for appointments to top service academies. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Fort Mill’s Yellow Jackets hold a perfect 3-0 record and will play tonight at 7:30 p.m. against the winless Lancaster Bruins in a non-conference home game — junior running back Broden Mitcheson and senior wide receiver Jameson Terrell drive the balanced offense. They will finish their non-conference schedule tonight and open conference play next week against the Catawba Ridge Copperheads. Tega Cay Sun
- ➤ South Pointe Stallions rallied in the final minute to upset the undefeated Northwestern Trojans 27-23 by completing a go-ahead touchdown pass+ a late defensive interception sealed the win. Northwestern, who suffered their first loss this season, will begin conference play next Friday+ the upset ends their unbeaten record. Tega Cay Sun
