BUSINESS NEWS

  • Riverstone Logistics announced it will relocate its headquarters to The Thread in Rock Hill as part of a $16 million investment—move planned to support its business growth.  WRHI

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At its September 15 meeting, York County Council approved a 10-year fire services framework and incentives for Riverstone’s headquarters relocation—swearing in new board members and honoring Maria Cabrera for 18 years of service. Council members raised concerns about hazardous chemicals at Silfab Fort Mill and rising residential density near Lake Wylie.  Tega Cay Sun

  • On September 16, Dr. Andrew Brenyo from the PMC Cardiac Electrophysiology Program and AFib Month joined Manning Kimmel on the Straight Talk podcast—he discussed heart rhythm management.  WRHI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Statewide high school football rankings from the S.C. Prep Football Media Poll released Tuesday, Sept 16 showed Dutch Fork (3-0) leading Class 5A with 20 first-place votes while Irmo posted a 4-0 record. Voters from across Classes 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, and A, including local media, helped determine the rankings.  WRHI
  • The Fort Mill boys volleyball team dropped to 3-7 today after Boiling Springs won straight sets 25-20, 25-21, and 25-19 as they prepare to host Blythewood tonight and face Indian Land Thursday. Meanwhile the girls tennis team improved to 5-0 with a 5-1 win over Northwestern, and the girls golf team lost to Catawba Ridge 163-177 — Brooke Mehlhouse led with a one-under par 35.  Tega Cay Sun
  • On Tuesday, the Fort Mill boys volleyball team beat the Blythewood Bengals in a nonconference match—improving their record to 4-7—while the Nation Ford girls team won 3-1 over the Catawba Ridge Copperheads, boosting their record to 14-4 and keeping an unbeaten 5A-D3 region run. Fort Mill will face Indian Land on Thursday and Nation Ford will travel to Clover for their next game.  Tega Cay Sun
  • Nation Ford girls’ tennis team extended its undefeated season Tuesday by beating Catawba Ridge 4 to 2 and improving their record to 4 to 0—No. 1 player Ansley McDonald won 6 to 2, 6 to 1 while No. 2 player Piper Land won 6 to 2, 6 to 3. The team will travel to Clover on Thursday to try and keep their winning run.  Tega Cay Sun
