- ➤ Tega Cay baker Michelle Marcsik won first place at the South Carolina State Fair with her tiered cake that competed in the Home & Craft contest in Columbia. Her cake impressed judges with its precision and balanced design—qualities that underline her professional skill—while adding to Tega Cay’s growing record of fair achievements. Tega Cay Sun
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Working with Lancaster County, York County, and Fort Mill, the Carolina Thread Trail team launched a study to examine routes linking trails from the state line to Anne Springs Clos Greenway and Route 160. Local officials ask residents to share input via an online survey + help shape a safer, more connected trail network for the community. Tega Cay Sun

- ➤ At Northwestern High School on Wednesday, the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets won both the boys’ and girls’ team titles at the Region 3-5A Championships—four runners from each team finished among the top six. Catawba Ridge's Ryan Pierson captured the individual boys’ title with a time of 16 minutes, 10.90 seconds while Clover’s Ella Nighbor won the girls’ race. Tega Cay Sun
- ➤ Last Thursday, Catawba Ridge head coach Ross Lisee’s Copperheads fought off a comeback from Indian Land High with a 3-1 win that pushed them into the Upper State title game for the third straight year — Cole Stukitz led the team with 15 kills in the match. The school’s tennis team won 5-1 over Hillcrest and will travel to Riverside on Tuesday, Oct. 28 — adding another playoff challenge. Fort Mill Prep Sports
