ENVIRONMENT NEWS

SPORTS NEWS

  • Nation Ford head coach Jake Bentley watched his Falcons suffer a heartbreaking 21-17 loss on Friday when Clover’s Justin Haywood scored a 22-yard touchdown with 24.8 seconds left — a pass interference penalty had set up the final drive. The team will focus on better execution ahead of the Milltown Showdown at Fort Mill on Oct. 31.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
  • The Indian Land Warriors won 20-16 on Friday night with a fourth-quarter touchdown run — they seized full control of Region 3-5A after Fort Mill built a 16-14 halftime lead but could not hold on. Fort Mill remained winless in conference play and will host rival Nation Ford next Friday — offering one last chance for a breakout win.  Tega Cay Sun
  • The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets lost 20-16 to the Indian Land Warriors at Bob Jones Stadium when a defensive stop with 20 seconds left ended their upset hopes. The loss dropped the Jackets to 4-5 overall and 0-5 in Region 3-5A while Indian Land improved to 9-0, and Fort Mill will host Nation Ford in their regular season final with a playoff spot on the line.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
  • On Friday night, the Catawba Ridge Copperheads lost 16-7 to Rock Hill as their offense struggled on Senior Night. Head coach Zac Lendyak said his team is in a rough patch—marked by a four-game losing streak—and will review film before its final game at Clover High School on Oct. 31.  Fort Mill Prep Sports
  • The South Carolina Football Hall of Fame has announced its first-round ballot for the Class of 2025 and invites fans to vote for up to four modern-era nominees and one legacy nominee by December 15—65 candidates including notable players, coaches, and administrators from nine collegiate programs are on the ballot—with enshrinement scheduled for April 16 in Greenville.  Tega Cay Sun
