🎓 Education
Fort Mill voters are set to choose three at-large school board members from a slate of six candidates, including incumbents Anthony Boddie, Dr. Scott Frattaroli, and Chairwoman Kristy Spears, with challengers Ellen Abramo, Denise Casey & Michelle Hoffman also in the race.
The nonpartisan election will determine who shapes education in our local district for the coming term.
🏛️ Government
Governor Henry McMaster activated the One SC Fund and ordered the State Guard to help food banks statewide—this step comes as federal SNAP benefits will stop on November 1, pushing the fund to coordinate donations and support safe distribution operations.
The initiative aims to aid local families while food banks prepare for increased demand.
🏈 Sports
The Catawba Ridge Copperheads boys’ volleyball team—holding a record of 25-4-2—swept the Eastside Eagles 3-0 in the Upper State Championship and will play for the state title at 3 p.m. on Nov.
1 at AC Flora High School in Columbia against the Socastee Braves.
On Oct 28, the Catawba Ridge Copperheads finished sixth at the 5A Division II state golf championship at Hackler Course on Coastal Carolina University campus while the Nation Ford Falcons placed tenth.
TL Hanna won the state title with a score of 642—12 strokes ahead of Conway.
