- ➤ Residents can avoid landfills by repurposing stripped Christmas trees via community recycling programs like Grinding of the Greens, which will turn trees into mulch, or through backyard projects such as wildlife shelters, garden insulation, and using wood in an outdoor fire pit + that prevents fire hazards.
