- ➤ Town officials approved Opie’s drive-thru only grocery market to be built at 5529 Arden Mill Drive near the fire station. Opie — a Mount Pleasant-based company — will run the eco-friendly store from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily with app-based ordering. Tega Cay Sun

- ➤ Between Aug. 13 and Aug. 22, a data breach at University of Phoenix exposed personal details of 64,161 residents in South Carolina and was discovered on Nov. 21; the university has notified law enforcement — and it is offering free identity protection services until Mar. 22, 2026. Tega Cay Sun

- ➤ Novant Health officially opened Mintview OB/GYN-Baxter Village in Fort Mill to expand local women's care. The clinic (at Baxter Village) offers prenatal, preventive, midwifery and advanced gynecologic services and is now accepting appointments. Tega Cay Sun
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ At May River High School on Dec. 29 and 30, Fort Mill wrestling won the US Army Shark Invitational as Lincoln Greene (150-pounds) and Ted Ernst (215-pounds) each won their weight classes, with 11 of 13 wrestlers placing out of 34 schools.
